You can now start studying the midwifery bachelor at the Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary, even if you have not completed a nursing degree before. This will give you the opportunity to lay the foundation of your midwifery career at the renowned Semmelweis University in Budapest.
In the midwifery program, students will learn how to conduct the process of delivery, they will learn how to monitor the mother and the newborn baby in childbed and how to look after, nurse and care for both and how to help them with breastfeeding. Furthermore, they will learn how to perform tasks of prenatal care and general nursing tasks.
The bachelor program will take 8 semesters, resp. 4 years and students have to earn 240 ECTS overall. The midwifery bachelor program is based on the European Parliament and the European’s Council Directive 2005/36/EC. Therefore it will be automatically recognized throughout the European Union and many other countries.
In order to be admitted to the degree program of midwifery, besides of handing in a perfectly assembled application, you have to pass a short interview for which we will prepare you in the best possible way.
