Given the unattainable cut-off scores set in Spain, ten students from Majorca decided to move to Hungary in pursue of their vocation.

MAR FERRAGUT. PALMA They had always wanted to study Medicine. But they never though they would end up learning Hungarian. However, there they are. They are more and more every day. We are speaking here about students from Majorca who move to Hungary in order to study their degree of choice and thus become much-needed doctors. A brain drain due to the impossibility of achieving a place at the universities of their country, young people willing to move anywhere, thus avoiding almost unattainable cut-off marks.

They are the best example of the things one does out of vocation. Cecilia Vicens tells us she had a very clear idea. She knows people who wanted to study Medicine and ended up studying Nursery or Physiotherapy because they could not get a place. “I didn’t want to become a frustrated doctor”, she said. In a similar situation are her fellow students, who are with her on this week of holidays that they have used to come back to their island.

Francesc Albertí told us that, when he was told that moving to Hungary might be the only way to study what he wanted he thought it sounded “kind of far away”, but in the end he “wanted to do it”.
