Hi, Lydia:
I am very happy so far. A lot of hustle and bustle, much movement, a lot to do and we have already started to study. I was just studying a bit of Hungarian and about to start with Anatomy. I feel privileged to be able to study this degree at this university, and I also feel very motivated to study as I never have before.
Something they do here that we do not do in Spain is to get up when the professor enters before some lectures and applaud when the lecture is over. It is something that has surprised me and I liked it, because the atmosphere (not just standing up and applauding, but also the silence and the attitude towards professors) is of respect towards the professors, something that seems essential to me.
Regarding my fellow students, we are a bunch of Spaniards, although I almost do not know them. In my class there are several people I already met last year and I made friends with one of them in particular, so having him this year in the same class I feel very comfortable.
Thank you for everything, greetings,
Marco. Semmelweis, 09.09.2010
